Escutcheons!? What are they?

: Justin McIntyre

Ever wonder what that small hole is on an elevator door?  It’s a key-hole!

Now, what component is used to make this key-hole?  The Escutcheon!

Access through these key-holes is typically for an elevator inspection, maintenance or to rescue someone that is stuck.

Available in two designs…  Each standard escutcheon is supplied with one (1) push-nut. The “Tuff-Nut” escutcheon features oversized dimensions, one inch of exterior thread and is supplied with a threaded flat washer nut.  All escutcheons have an I.D. hole diameter to fit a 3/8 inch key.

Lustre Products’ Escutcheons are available in Aluminum, Brass and Stainless Steel.
